Grassroots North Shore endorses Dr. Tony Evers for State Superintendent of Public Instruction.

After considering the two candidates' backgrounds, experience, and positions on the critical issues facing public education in Wisconsin, Grassroots North Shore endorses Dr. Tony Evers for State Superintendent of Public Instruction.

Dr. Evers has been a consistent and stalwart champion of public eduction in Wisconsin and has served as an outstanding Superintendent of Public Instruction for the past eight years. He has advocated for the right of every Wisconsin child to graduate from high school ready for college or a career. He believes in providing the supportive services many children need to reach that goal. And he "will vigorously defend our public schools, so we never pit the haves against the have nots."

He has served by the principles he articulates on his campaign website and deserves our support for another four years.

Scott Wales and Kashoua Kristy Yang are candidates for County Court judge in Branch 47. In this race, Grassroots North Shore issues the following statement:

Endorsement, where it comes to candidates, is something the Grassroots North Shore steering committee does thoughtfully and rarely.

There are some races about which we feel strongly positive about one candidate and the candidate could use the help of our members. For the most part these are races where we feel there is clear cut support by our members for one candidate over the other.

Other times we endorse to give our members guidance in a race where there is a strong progressive vs someone who is not.

In the case of the race for Milwaukee County Court Branch 47 between Scott Wales and Kristy Yang we believe either candidate would be excellent on the bench. Both are strong progressives. Based on our criteria, GRNS has chosen not to endorse either candidate.
