Deep canvassing does not seek to get votes for any particular candidate or party. Instead, its purpose is to listen to specific voters' concerns. The techniques canvassers use and the script we are basing our work on require canvassers to work in pairs and to have a real discussion with voters.

At this first outing of the summer, we are going to do some training and discussing the concepts at 1:00 pm and then head out to try it around 2:00. We will gather back at the office to talk about what we have learned, both to improve our canvassing techniques and to find out from each other what is on the minds of the voters we talk to.

There are no elections in Wisconsin until February 2020. So this is the perfect time to get to know people on the North Shore, to hear what's on their minds, and to awaken some awareness of the upcoming elections.
