JFC hearings

The Joint Finance Committee consists of 16 legislators, 12 Republicans and 4 Democrats. It is a body comprised of both senators and assembly representatives and has the first line of responsibility for budget matters for Wisconsin.

Before the houses of the legislature hold votes on budget proposals, the Joint Finance Committee holds four public hearings around the state. These hearings provide us with opportunities to testify about various aspects of the budget. Grassroots North Shore is participating in TWO hearings: on April 10 in Oak Creek and on April 24 in Green Bay. Please sign up to attend one with us using the links in the previous sentence.

We have posted a page of ideas for your testimony, if you plan to speak, and a page with some expectations and presentation tips.

We are also asking people to stand in solidarity with those testifying about Fair Maps and with those from Citizen Action testifying about the proposed BadgerCare expansion. (You can sign up to testify about BadgerCare on Citizen Action's website.)
