Grassroots North Shore endorses Liz Sumner for the position of Milwaukee County Comptroller.
A graduate of Marquette University, Liz later received a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Chicago with a concentration in finance. She has a wide range of experience: running a small business, serving as Chair of the Finance Committee as Supervisor for District 1. She was a member of the Audit Committee for the 2022-2024 term and on the Parks, Energy and Environment Committee.
As county comptroller, Liz wants to make the office more efficient, strategic, and equitable. As she puts it: "I plan to use my background in finance, strategy, and management to modernize the office of the comptroller while improving communication across departments to create efficiencies that will lead to financial savings, which can be invested in needed areas. These savings and efficiencies, coupled with the sales tax increase, will contribute to helping the county reach its goals of racial equity while becoming the healthiest county in the state."
Grassroots North Shore applauds Liz Sumner’s strong work ethic, knowledge and strong background, and her desire to make Milwaukee a better place to live.
